How is the statutory redundancy calculation worked out?
Pay is capped at £643 per week (this was increased on 6th April 2023).
Length of service is capped at 20 years.
The maximum amount of statutory redundancy pay in 2023-24 is £19,290.
You do not qualify for a redundancy payment if you have been employed in your present job for less than 2 years.
You receive:
0.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re under 22;
1 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re between 22 and 41;
1.5 week’s pay for each full year worked when you’re 41 or older.
The total number of weeks pay you are entitled to is subject to the above.
