Bookkeeper (Full-time)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our accountancy team in London. It is a hybrid role with time split between our office in Bermondsey Street, London and at home.

  • Bookkeeper is a pivotal role within the Accountancy team and wider business. The role will involve taking responsibility for the bookkeeping services for our clients and working closely overseeing our outsourced bookkeeping providers. This role is suited to an individual that has at least 2 years’ bookkeeping experience and is keen to manage the bookkeeping function at Dragon Argent. Attention to detail in data entry is crucial and you will need to be able to communicate effectively with clients and respond to their queries.

  • - Operate a comprehensive bookkeeping function for c.30 clients including

    - Accurately record invoices raised and bills received.

    - Reconcile bank transactions.

    - Post journals for prepayments, accruals, payroll and other monthly/annual adjustments.

    - Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns for bookkeeping clients.

    - Assist senior accountants in preparation of monthly/yearly management/statutory accounts.

    - Demonstrate a basic understanding of the client’s business and identify potential constructive recommendations.

    - Assist Finance Manager and Finance Director with internal finance:

    - Bookkeeping, VAT, internal payroll, credit control, payment runs.

    - Monthly management accounts and process improvement in relation to this.

    - Implementation of general process improvement.

    - Assist with any other related accounting and internal finance work.

    - Assist with any other general administration tasks on an ad hoc basis.

  • - AAT qualified or part qualified

    - At least 2 years’ bookkeeping experience

    - Organised and able to work to tight deadlines

    - Diligent and thorough, with a strong attention to detail

    - Easily approachable and skilled at building a good rapport with clients and colleagues

    - Excellent English – written and verbal

    - Experience using Xero

    - Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office platforms

    - Positive, proactive and “can-do” attitude with an ability to multi-task.

  • - Competitive salary £28,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.
